Accompanying Person Tour - City - Cultural and design tour

This guided tour gives you the highlights of Reykjavik city center including Icelandic design.

The tour will depart from your hotel and includes a visit to a local jeweller and goldsmith, whose work is inspired by Icelandic nature and folklore. We will visit Hallgrimskirkja church, Reykjavik's main landmark and its tower can be seen from almost everywhere in the city. There is a possibility of going up to the tower, we will see Reykjavik City Hall and from there we go to see The Settlement Exhibition Reykjavik 871±2 which is  located in Reykjavík center, Aðalstræti 16. The exhibition aims to provide insights into the environment of the Reykjavík farm at the time of the first settlers. Exhibits include artefacts from archaeological excavations in central Reykjavík. We will also go to a “wild herb tea party” where you will taste wild Icelandic herbs and try cosmetics made from hand-picked, naturally grown herbs. A visit to a leading outdoor fashion company and a design store is also included. The design store is located in the oldest house in Reykjavik and today offers a wide selection of the best in Icelandic design. Golden Circle Tour

This popular excursion introduces you to some of the best known historical sites and natural phenomena in Iceland. We will start by visiting the Þingvellir National Park, where the Icelandic Parliament, Alþingi, was founded in the year 930 AD. Þingvellir is a geological marvel and its tectonic plate boundaries form breath-taking scenery. We will then continue to the beautiful Gullfoss waterfall, where we will be able to walk so close to the edge that we might even feel the mist of the glacial water on our faces.

From Gullfoss we will drive towards the geothermal area around the incredible spouting hot springs of Geysir and Strokkur. We proceed to Skálholt church, the ancient seat of the Icelandic bishops. From there we travel towards Hveragerði, a small and charming horticultural village.
