The Ministry of Education, Science and Culture in Iceland welcomes you to the 3rd Annual Conference of the International Council on Archives (ICA) held Reykjavík, Iceland, in 2015, hosted by the National Archives of Iceland.
This important event will bring together an international group of professionals in this field and serve to raise public awareness regarding the importance of archives in Iceland and in the Nordic countries. In 2014 the Nordic Ministers of Culture signed a joint statement declaring the importance of archives in our societies with reference to the Universal Declaration on Archives adopted in Oslo 2010 and adopted by UNESCO in 2011.
Reykjavík is an attractive city that has a lot to offer; archives, museums, galleries and excellent facilities for conferences. In addition to that there is an interesting range of historical sites and natural wonders at our doorstep.
The Ministry wholeheartedly supports the National Archives of Iceland in hosting this conference and I am confident that the ICA Conference in Reykjavík in 2015 will be successful and productive.
